Description
The 2665 Series high resolution digital automatic extensometer provides a solution to the need for faster and more efficient testing. All operations of the extensometer are fully automated.
The extensometer is available for axial and transverse measurement ( 2665-026) .
Principle of Operation
The 2665 Series extensometer uses a servo-follower to measure the test specimen strain without any significant operating ( drag) forces.In operation a pair of motorized arms positioned and remotely controlled, gauge length are closed on the test specimen.
The arms are fitted with sensitive strain gauges which are used to control the servo follower system.
The strain measurement transducer is a high accuracy digital scale and the moving parts of the extensometer run on low friction precision air-bearings.
The extensometer arms incorporate over-travel protection to prevent damage.
All operations of the extensometer are fully automated and can be controlled directly from software ( via a GPIB interface) or via a handset. The available functions include setting of: axial gauge length, lower arm position, gripping force.
A self-test routine and service diagnostics assure minimum downtime in the event of a failure.
